06 Feb Engaged – Nicki and Ross
If you’re wondering how an engagement shoot might work for you, Ross and Nicki’s shoot from February last year shows that you really don’t have to wait until Spring or Summer for some gorgeous photographs.
The couple chose the grounds Stokesay Court on a cold and misty morning to take a walk around with me and the camera. Not a single leaf on the trees and the fog was so thick on the drive over that I was a little worried we might not be able to shoot at all, but it cleared just enough to let the Winter sun shine through and we had a great time exploring through the twinkling snowdrops, lakes, and beautiful architecture.
If the house looks familiar, you might remember Stokesay Court being a key location in the film adaptation of ‘Atonement’ starring Keira Knightly (in-particular you might remember the scene where she dives into the fountain, and jumps out wearing not very much!). There is even some of the scenery especially built for the film at the bottom of the garden! Stokesay is privately owned and not open to the public, so this was a real treat to have access to such a gorgeous place thanks to Ross’ contacts, and we got some really unique and special images to celebrate that special time before this gorgeous couple tied the knot a few months later.
Enjoy!
