19 Jan Fliss and Sam
A relaxed, fun-filled wedding with regal greenery and gold detailing at Ludlow Castle.
One of my favourite things about being a wedding photographer today is how you’re simply not a total stranger to the bride and groom. Thanks to social media, I often see the build up unfolding in front of me and get just as excited as the couple and their guests about the big day! July 2019 bride Fliss had a truly brilliant wedding Instagram from the word go (@littlegriffithswedding) which I and hundreds of others watched with great interest as the little details built up week by week to create this truly fantastic wedding. I feel like I really got to know the ‘wedding room’ in Fliss and Sam’s house as it slowly filled with boxes of carefully chosen decorations, bridesmaid dresses, and hundreds of green hand-dipped dinner candles. It’s a really nice way to look back on the planning process, and planning a wedding is all part of the fun of getting married!
Fliss had a very clear vision of the look she wanted for the wedding, keeping in mind the grand surroundings of both the Ludlow Castle’s Round Chapel for the ceremony, and the opulent Beacon Room where the wedding breakfast was held. A simple colour palette of Gold, Green and White made for a simple, elegant and totally gorgeous backdrop without being fussy or frilly. They chose not to have any flowers at all, not even in the bouquet! It was all gorgeous natural greenery and looked so unique. The majority of the decorations were made by Fliss (even the sun hats the girls wore for the Hen weekend were hand-personalised by the bride!) and she did an incredible job, you have admire the dedication!
Fliss and Sam themselves were such a kind, lovely genuine couple of work with, whose love for their family, friends (and dogs!), shone through! All they wanted was for everyone they cared about to have a great time at their wedding, and they REALLY did! Prossecco pong, cricket, garden games, a limbo pole, cake on the lawn, BBQ food and a silent disco did the job of making sure not one guest had time to be bored.
Enjoy!
Thank you so very much to the lovely Mr and Mrs Griffiths for being such a brilliantly fun and gorgeous couple to shoot, I feel very lucky indeed to have been a part of your wedding and to have gotten to know you over the last couple of years!
Big Love,
Sophie x
