07 Jan Mel and Mattie
A stunning rainy day marquee wedding at The Citadel, with delicate hues of living coral and pastel green.
Mel and Mattie managed to pick one VERY wet and windy day for their wedding one of Shropshire’s most distinctive venues, The Citadel at Weston-under-Redcastle. The bad weather meant that the majority of the day took place within the marquee, but thanks to their creative vision, the reception marquee was decorated in the most breathtaking style with every inch of space filled with paper lanterns, wild flowers and lace ribbons, in a beautiful, delicate colour palette of coral, pale green, powder blue and cream. The guests really had time to enjoy all the hard work that went into creating the space, and there was in incredibly sweet moment after the speeches when the sun suddenly came out for the evening, and everyone merrily went out to explore the Citadel gardens together, Prosecco in hand!
Mattie and Mel were such a genuine, down to earth and funny couple to work with. I was really very touched by how the both of them absolutely beamed with pride as they walked around greeting their guests with their baby son Bobby. I felt so overjoyed for the three of them every time I caught Mattie looking at his little family and clearly thinking he was the luckiest man alive. That’s love! It’s a beautiful, beautiful thing and it’s why I love this job.
Thank you so much Mr and Mrs Binnersley for having me be the one to shoot your fantastic wedding day! It was so much fun, I enjoyed every moment. Even the soggy parts!
